CNN Spotlights Our Mission

When a global business network like CNN International wants to talk about your company, it's proof your approach is being taken seriously on a global stage. That's why we're excited to share that CNN's flagship show, Quest Means Business interviewed our CEO David Kaplan. The segment went far beyond our brand, focusing on the core purpose behind our community-first investment round. Watch the full segment.

Growing Twice as Fast as the Hospitality Industry

We’re setting a new standard in hospitality growth, with projected revenue compounding at 50%+ annually, nearly twice as fast as industry leaders.

As revenue climbs, profitability accelerates too. Our profit margins are projected to outpace sales growth, and net income is expected to improve by $6.8M by 2028.

This means you’re investing in a hospitality business designed to both scale and generate value quickly.

A Toast to Our Story

Over nearly 20 years, Death & Co — and now Gin & Luck — have redefined the cocktail industry. Death & Co has earned top accolades including placements on the World’s 50 Best Bars and an array of awards at Tales of the Cocktail’s Spirited Awards (World’s Best Menu, America’s Best Cocktail Bar).

Our second book, Cocktail Codex, was the first drinks book ever to win a James Beard Award for Book of the Year. With the largest Instagram following of any bar and the most extensive retail marketplace in the industry, we’ve built a global community of cocktail enthusiasts. Our four bars welcome 7,500+ weekly visitors, generate tens of millions in revenue, and are all profitable.

Beyond the bar, we’re expanding into retail, ready-to-drink cocktails, hotels, new brands, and more — all primed for exponential growth.

More Than Just Cocktails

We create award-winning cocktail bars and hotels with thriving food & beverage programs, but we don’t stop there. We’re also bringing the same impeccable experiences to additional businesses such as:

  • Hotel concept development + management

  • Hotel real estate ownership

  • IP ownership

  • Robust events business

  • Direct-to-consumer marketplace

  • Paywalled education platform

Each of these businesses help drive traffic to our core brick & mortar operations.

We Have The Ideal Growth Strategy

Gin & Luck’s growth strategy is uniquely designed to maximize expansion while minimizing risk, setting us apart in the hospitality industry. By leveraging strong developer partnerships, the majority of new cocktail bar opening costs are covered via external funding, allowing us to focus on operational excellence and brand building.

Our flexible approach to hotel deals—ranging from management agreements to ownership opportunities—enables us to scale efficiently while aligning with market dynamics. Additionally, licensing agreements create investment-free revenue streams that extend the reach of our brands globally, reinforcing our reputation as an industry leader. This unparalleled strategy combines financial prudence with bold innovation, driving sustainable growth and long-term success.

Our Mix of Legacy & Agility

Recognized among the top bars across the country, our legacy brand is a solid foundation for our nimble approach to growth. Through initiatives like our Death & Co sister brand, Close Company, and our expansion into hotels with Midnight Auteur, we’re able to minimize build-out costs and maximize operating margins.

Close Company was created as an evolution of the Death & Co experience — one centered on fantastic cocktails but suited for new, untapped audiences. Iterative but not repetitive, Close Company is designed to seamlessly land in markets that crave high-quality experiences without pretense.

The demand for our brands is such that landlords are willing to subsidize 80% to 100% of total opening costs.*
